Watching them play

I absolutely LOVE watching Lyric and Logan play!!! As someone that grew up as an "only child" I am so glad that I had more than one child.  They are always using their imaginations playing together.  Very seldom do you see them do their own thing.  Of course they fight but it is on a rare occasion and usually when someone hasn't had a nap.  I'm sure Gavin will be welcomed and join in as soon as he is able, for now though he just thinks they are hillarious and he just laughs at them when they come around him.  Gavin sits there and just watches them play, its sweet..almost like he really would love to get down and run around with them.

I hope that Lyric and Logans friendship stays strong as they get older.  I hope that all three of them are really close.

Gavins week....

Gavin has had a great week of milestones .....

First off I bought him a sippy cup and mixed a little juice and water together for him to try.  He was pretty funny, he got really excited about it but just could not figure out what to do with it.  I held it for him to drink and that was funny in itself because he was trying to "nurse" from the spout and that was not working :) so he ended up just holding it and rolling it around.

Next thing this week is I baked him a sweet potato and cut it into french fry shaped pieces.  I laid them on his tray and he had a blast with those.  He would pick one up, chew around on it then loose it somehow.  Too cute!!

Next....First tooth broke through!!! I'm not sure if I'm super excited about this but I knew it would come sooner or later.  He hasn't been super fussy but you can tell when it is bothering him.

And it begins...

I just stopped by the school this afternoon and found out Lyrics' teacher for the fall!!!

Its all starting to hit me now......Mrs. Morgan will be his teacher, from the write up in the handout she seems like a nice lady.

I am starting to get a little nervous though, thinking about him going into school, recess, lunch all without me!!! Don't get me wrong I am happy he will get to be independent and whatever but it makes me so sad.  I've had him with me basically for 5 years and now he's starting school.  I will try not to be the mom that calls up there every few hours just to see how its going hahaha.

They gave us a list of things he should know before school starts so it looks like we have a busy summer of reviewing things.

Wish us luck......

Mothers Day 2012

Mothers day this year was something we celebrated all weekend!! We started Thursday night by going to mother son "date knight" at Chick-fil-a.  The boys dressed up as knights and I was their princess.  It was fun they had tables decorated with black cloths and little candles, then knights and maidens came to take our order.  We topped it off with some sundaes and then headed to church.
Friday I caught up on some cleaning and then the boys and I played cootie, went outside and played, ate strawberries with whipped cream.
Saturday we had a picnic in the park with a friend of theirs Emma and her mommy Laura.  It was alot of fun and we all enjoyed it!!
Sunday we had a cookout for my mom, mother in law, mimi and myself........it was nice to have everyone together to celebrate a special day.

I thank God everyday for what he has blessed me with....three wonderful boys and my mom who has taught me so much about being a caring mother.  I never thought you could love someone so much let alone three!!  I love my boys more than anything in this world.  It amazes me how hard of a job it is the sleepless nights, worrying about them non-stop....I'm sure it gets worse before it gets better hahaha but I wouldn't change it for anything.

Gavin

Gavin is 6 months old today!!!!! Goodness you just never understand how fast it goes until you have them.  He has changed so much in the past 6 mos...going from a little 6 lb baby to 18 lb chunk.

Gavin is a happy little guy only gets upset when he's hungry or dirty.  He is almost sitting up by himself, rolling around, trying to army crawl and absolutely loves food!!

He has been interested in table food for awhile now so I started researching baby led weaning.  This is just a method of skipping puree baby food and cutting up fruits and veggies to let them explore and so far its going good.  I do give him some baby food but mostly just mashed up things that we are eating, at least until I get more educated on the baby led foods.  I have been breastfeeding him since day 1,which I've not lasted this long with my older ones....I found out I wasn't nearly as educated with the first two and it is not an easy task but its been going pretty well actually.

He is very attached to mommy, I am trying the attached parenting thing, I try to keep him in an ergo carrier on trips out.  Unfortunately since the car wreck I can't carry him as long because my neck and back kill me, but he likes the little stroller too.

God has truly blessed me with such amazing boys and I couldn't be happier!!!

Logan

Logan is the crazy 3 yr old middle child.....

There is never a dull moment with my monkey.  He is always happy and the sweetest kid, he takes up for Lyric and Gavin if someone even looks like they are going to treat them wrong.
I'm proud to have such a strong willed kid....stubborn and very hard headed but he is great!!

He shocked us when we bought Gavin home because I just knew that he would be jealous, afterall he had been the "baby" for almost three years, but he took right to him and never seemed upset that he wasn't the little guy anymore.  I read in an article along time ago that the way to make sure they didn't feel left out was to always tend to their needs first.....because the baby wouldn't remember who got loved on first but the older child would.  That advice has always stuck with me and I truly think it helps.

I think Logan is going to be very athletic when he gets older...he absolutely loves football and has since he was just a little guy.  He gets sad when Lyric gets to go play tball and he has to sit out. So much that we had to find him a shirt the same color as the team and he carries his baseball glove to the games with him.  I have heard that they have soccer in the fall for 3 yr olds so I might sign him up for that if he is interested.

Logan will be starting pre-school in the fall.  I know it will be good for him and he is super excited, but it makes me sad because he has been home with me since day 1.  I am very fortunate to have gotten to see him overcome every milestone in his life,so far, and I know that this will help him grow more socially.

He is my big helper always wanting to do things like help cook, clean, set the table....if only he was interested in cleaning HIS room :)

Lyric

Lyric will be 6 in August and starting school!!! I just cannot believe how fast they grow it seems like yesterday I was nervous about being a first time mom.  I held Lyric back a year because I just did not think he was mature enough to start school; I've also heard that it will be the best decision I would make for him.  At the time I didn't think so but now I have noticed that he is in such a better place,as far as learning and being interested in learning, than a year ago.  I went and registered him a couple of weeks ago for school and I thought I would not get the kid out of there! We got to eat lunch with the kindergarten and tour the school.  It was bittersweet watching him carry his lunch tray and all those mommy emotions took over so I am positive the first day I will be needing the tissues.

Lyric has been in a program the past two years called HIPPY which is just a preschool learning program they do from home.  He has meetings once a month where he gets to interact with other children and they have fun little activities we do throughout the year.  I think this has helped prepare him for school and I am glad that we found out about it.

He is starting to understand the concept of sounding out words, which I think is AMAZING, because I didn't even know he was ready for that.  He started asking me what certain words were and I just made him sound them out and boom he caught on.  Biggest word so far that he has read is FAMILY. *proud mommy moment* :)

Lyric is playing t-ball this year for the Warriors.  I am proud to say that he is really enjoying it and is getting the hang of it pretty quickly......

Craziness....

This past April was a crazy month for us...I feel like my house and family has just been turned upside down.  I took a part time position helping a friend with her daycare, then we got into a wreck that totaled the car....and the list keeps going.  Thankfully God has been looking out for us, we were able to finally find a good vehicle and things are finally starting to calm down!!! I am back to being stay at home mommy/wife....and I think I have a new found appreciation for being at home with my children. I do not see how women with children work and make it on time. :)

I am not sure why I started this blog...maybe to vent a little and for the long distance family to keep up with our crazy life of having three awesome boys!!!

This is my first blog page so bare with me until I figure things out....because if you haven't noticed the pic of the boys is GIGANTIC!!! hahaha

Logans 3rd Birthday

I cannot believe my second child is three today!! Where does the time go and it just seems to be going by faster each day.
So Logan is super excited its his bday....I tried to plan a fun day for him and the boys but its hard when daddy is working.  We started the day off with cereal and cartoons, followed by a trip to walmart picking out a small ninja guy and food for a picnic. Picnic in the park score 1 for mom, Logan thought it was awesome!! Came home for naps and then mini party when daddy got home with cupcakes and presents!!!

Logan had a an awesome party at Chuck E Cheese a couple of days later......
