Saturday FUN DAY!

So last Saturday we decided to stay home, hubby was at work and the boys had been getting a little bored.  I decided to pull out the paints, masking tape and canvas.....of course this idea was from pintrest.  You take masking tape and spell out the kids names (we had to do initials because my canvas was small) then you just let the kids go to town painting all over, after dry pull off the masking tape and BAM instant art!

They really enjoyed making a mess...I mean painting and putting their hand prints on the canvas.

Our Dining Table

Having dinner at the table each night has always been a BIG thing for me.  I don't know what it is but I just think it is the best time to get everyone together.  I am not a big fan of tv to begin with so there is to be no tv at dinner time, occasionally we will have the radio on very low.  Since school started we have gone around the table asking what our favorite part of the day was and what else we enjoyed today.

I have been searching for more ways to have bible time with the kids and I have came across some great ideas! One thing we have been doing is morning devotions at breakfast before school (again we are at the table and no tv) I read it to them and then they get to ask questions.  Then I found a blog about a family that just really inspired me they do their devotions at night after dinner at the dining table!! Perfect for me because I am a fan of the dining table :) ahahahaha, so we have started doing a memory verse each week.  When we are getting close to being done my hubby or I will pull out the verse which I have written on card stock and even added a picture that might be helpful for them to memorize it.

I am really impressed with how well they are doing and this is only day 2!!! It not only helps them put the Word in their hearts but hubby and I also.

We also have found a really awesome idea (same blog that inspired me) for our dining table....she turned the top of the table into a chalkboard with chalkboard paint! So the kids get to doodle while going over their bible lessons and she writes their "question" of the night on their and they doodle a picture to go with their answers. I love this idea and we will hopefully be turning our dining table VERY soon ;)

Logans' Teddy Bear Picnic...

This week in Preschool Logan is learning the letter B...yesteray when I picked him up from school he had a note saying to bring his favorite Bear for a picnic.  He was so excited that all we heard that night was about how he was having a picnic and was going to take his build a bear.  Of course when we went into his room to look for him the bear was missing his shorts hahaha but we found them and they drifted off to sleep peacefully.

Here is the picture of him getting ready to head to school.

I'm guessing they had a pretty intresting day from the pictures his teacher posted on facebook...so I thought I would share.

Labor day weekend

We didn't do much this Labor day weekend, Saturday the boys and I did not even leave the house.  Which was so nice, Lyric even said "I'm so glad we are not going anywhere today, I am so tired of working".  hahah I was like really son you have been in school for two weeks you have a total of 13 years of school work ahead.

Sunday we got up and went to church....then came home for a lazy afternoon.  That night we went to see fireworks at the subdivision here in town.  It was nice Hot but fun, the kids hung out with one of their friends and Gavin cried almost the whole time because he was so sleepy.

Today I woke up with a horrible headache and we had planned on taking the kids to do something fun.  I got around but very slowly...we ended up packing a picnic and heading to Rogers to the new Cabellas store.  Fun and neat but extremely busy!!!! Sadly it was almost 100 degrees today so there was no picnic we just decided to eat in the car and then walk around build a bear.  The boys cannot wait until they get to go back and build one.  We are trying to teach them to save their money and $3 was not going to be building a bear :)

Pin IT!?!?!?!

So I tried to avoid Pinterest for as long as possible....but unfortunately I was talked into joining and I have been missing out!! LOL  There is so much stuff and great ideas I never knew.  It is addicting for sure I could lose hours on it.

But in my defense I have found some neat ideas to do with the kids and I am really excited about it.

School Days

Well we have now been in the school year for two weeks now...I am happy to say that it is going pretty well!

Lyric had one bad day the second day but all is well and he loves it so far! I've had to talk to him about rushing through his coloring because bless his heart it looked like Logans three year old coloring LOL!  It took me a couple of days to figure out why it looked so rushed and then it hit me he was rushing through so he could free draw on the back....so we had a talk about that ;)

They have a ticket system in his class green, yellow and red (I'm sure you can guess what they mean) he has been on green for a week now and he is so proud of himself.  He only got yellow the first couple of days for singing in the bathroom and talking during naptime hahaha, poor kid can't sing to go potty.

Logan is really enjoying himself in preschool they have learned so much in the past couple of weeks.  He is up everyday ready to go! I love seeing the pictures his teacher posts on facebook so we can see what his days consist of.

I on the other hand am still having a hard time adjusting to just having Gavin at home! I know I should be ecstatic but it is just so quiet....

But the last two weeks have been great and I'm glad that they are enjoying it!
