Well the kiddos are out of school for TWO weeks and I couldn't be more happier to be spending time with them!! I thought I would be going insane (of course we are only in the first week) but I am loving every minute of it we've been playing games and watching movies. They have been super good and not fighting too much and I think Gavin is enjoying the extra company as well.
Yesterday we sat down at lunch and made a new chore chart, since they got skylanders for Christmas I figured they would need a way to earn money for more figures. So they each have their specific chores and they get to put an X on what has been completed, I'm still trying to decide how much to give them a week for a job well done....I'm thinking $2.-- a week Lyric was happy when I mentioned $1.25 a week LOL I am pretty sure that anything would work just to get them to understand that things are not just given to us. They have been helping out a lot around the house before the chart so nothing new to them :)
Anyways.....we will see how it goes so far so good and they seem very excited.

Christmas!!!!
Christmas came and went so fast this year, personally I don't think the days will be slowing down anytime soon!!!
Anyways....we had a really good Christmas. It started Christmas Eve night at Wills' dads house we had a nacho bar and exchanged gifts(we always draw names). We didn't stay as long as we normally do because when Gavin is ready for bed it is time to go. Christmas morning is always spent with Wills mom we have breakfast and let the kids open their gifts. Most everyone has plans following that so we only stayed for like an hour and half. Then for the first time in a forever we got to come home and rest for a little bit before heading to my moms for dinner and presents. Presents everywhere!!! Not so much toys (thankfully we are taking a different route) but when you have 5 people in your family the car gets filled quickly LOL. We were extremely blessed this year with the stuff that was given to us most of it was actually things we needed.
Will and I did a small Christmas on Christmas eve when the kids went to bed....it was nice just the two of us opening our gifts from each other. I got a knife (my first one) I had a bad experience awhile back in a parking lot so I asked for one to keep in my purse. I got him some camo things for hunting and stuff for his gun.
All in all it was a great Christmas...I will try not to post an abundance of pics ;)

Church Christmas...
The boys and I were lucky enough to participate in the Christmas program at church this morning. Unfortunately that is why there are no pictures mama was helping out!! :/ The kids choir was so cute in their little robes and Logan was the one who wouldn't stand still (there is always that one huh). But they did their sign language song and some Christmas music. After that some of the ladies and I did a sign language drama to a beautiful song. Tonight is the Christmas banquet, hopefully I will get some good pictures and add them to the blog :)

Logans Christmas Program...
Last night was Logans first Christmas Program...I was so proud of him he knew all of his songs and was so adorable!!! I have to say he has a wonderful preschool teacher and I am so glad that I went ahead and chose to send him this year. :)
So it was a potluck program/party and I saw the cutest cupcake snowman on pinterest and thought
"I can do that". I changed it up a bit and used m&m's and it didn't turn out as cute as I'd hoped but it didn't last long either LOL.....I also made some super easy peanut butter fudge and saltine toffee stuff (oh sooooo good).
Logan was lucky enough to have his "O" be Santa, although he had no clue but what a cute memory to look back on when he gets older. We don't necessarily do santa at our house but the kids do know that there was a man named St. Nicholas that gave toys to the poor a long time ago . Therefore, Lyric knew O was santa last night and I didn't have any questions or lies I had to deal with LOL.
Here are some pictures of last night, I did manage to get a couple before Logan untucked his shirt.......

The Real Power of Prayer...
I am so thankful that I serve a God who actually hears and answers prayers. The past two weeks each kid in this house has tried to get sick. They would be feeling bad one night so we prayed over them at bed time for a healing and the next morning they were absolutely fine. Yes a little runny noses but no fevers!! Our latest was Gavin just last night he was getting pretty bad just lethargic and starting to run a temp one prayer of healing before bed and the next morning nothing no fever and barely any snot!! I am so blessed and I give all the glory to God no medicine intervened just simple prayer.
Why blog on this topic?? I think people need to hear that God is still good in all the things that are going on in the world today, if we could just be more sensitive to his spirit and shine the light we've been given.

A night with friends
So I got this bright idea about a month ago that I would let the kids invite some friends over and have a polar express night party. It wasn't a bad idea but I should've known there would be no movie watching LOL Lyric had over a couple of friends and Logan had his best friend Emma over. I made pizza, baked cookies, had popcorn, we did an edible train and had hot chocolate. It was a very exhausting night but the kids had fun!!
Train Tracks
Candy Cane cookies (which were too thick so they were fat LOL)
Pizza and the start of the movie
Gavin joined right in all night
Having popcorn
Emma & Logan
Being silly on the tracks
Playing a board game
homemade hot chocolate yum:)
Edible train
Logans Polar Express school party
Logans teacher threw the kids a party where they did nothing but watch polar express and do activities that went along with the movie. He got to wear his pajamas too school and from what I heard they had a great time :0) here are some pictures of his day.
before school (Lyric told him he looked like a ninja,so he had to pose)
They ice skated
had cookies and hot chocolate
Lyrics Christmas Program at School
Lyric had his first Christmas program at school this past Thursday. It was Kindergarten through 6th grade and they had it in the gym, which was totally packed!!! I thought getting there thirty minutes early would give us plenty of time for parking and seating OH NO!! I barely found a parking spot and we had to sit on the very end of the cement bleachers near the stairs, it wasn't too bad though because Lyrics' class was actually at the end too.
They sang some Christmas songs and there was a theme so a boy would read a little throughout, what was he saying??? I haven't a clue LOL I could not even hear the poor kid and he had a mic.
My camera took horrible pics of them singing but I got some after shots as well....Enjoy :)

Let the festivities begin!!!!
This past weekend started off the festivities for the holiday season.
We started Saturday night at Wills work Christmas party, it was ok nothing like last years.
Then Sunday after church Lyric and Logan went to sing at a nursing home with our churches children's choir. Logan sadly wasn't feeling up to it but Lyric got up there and did so well with their sign language song! I was impressed with him because he kept saying that it was really hard work.
It seems like every weekend up until Christmas we have something planned but we will not let it take our minds off what Christmas is truly about!! Lyric cannot wait until we make Jesus his birthday cake and sing to him on Christmas. I hope everyone has a great Christmas!!!

Homemade Ornaments
This was probably the funnest thing I've done with the kids in awhile...it wasn't time consuming and it wasn't really that messy until we got to painting them.
I got a recipe off of pinterest to make some ornaments, first I just wanted to do their handprints but then I dug out some cookie cutters and we just had a good time.
Recipe:
4 cups of flour
1 cup of salt
1 1/2 cups of water
mix it together knead the dough, roll out cut how you would like bake at 350 for 20-25 mins, let it cool and decorate!!
EASY!!!

Lyric did so good on his ornaments.
Logan had a blast, even had paint on his face LOL
I made this ornament for Will and I ( I thought it was a cute mushy idea)
Gavin checking out his stuff
He would not put his hand on the dough so we ended up having to do his footprint and he giggled the whole time :)
